TEAM PROFILE:
INESS BENAZIZA

INESS BENAZIZA

Iness has recently completed her Integrated Master’s in Law degree at the University of Westminster, achieving a First Class award including a Distinction grade on the Legal Practice Course. Iness is working towards qualifying as a solicitor.

Iness has volunteered at her university’s law clinic, Citizens Advice Bureau and with several charities to assist clients with legal problems in family, employment and housing law. Iness was also involved in the Windrush Justice Clinic assisting clients affected by the Windrush scandal. Human Rights is an important area of law for Iness and one she elected in her undergraduate studies. This has sparked her interest in social justice issues such as equality, deprivation of liberty and poverty.

During her studies, Iness worked in a residential care home for the elderly. This exposed Iness to working with vulnerable people and delivering an excellent standard of care and service to the residents. Iness undertook various training programmes and is trained in administering medication and first aid, as well as being a Dementia Friend. This experience has enabled Iness to work closely with health professionals to support patients with care needs and enhance their quality of life.

Outside of work, Iness enjoys resistance and HIIT training and music. Currently, Iness is volunteering in a scheme with London Black Women Project, assisting women to claim compensation for their criminal injuries and review CPS decisions. Iness is also a committee member of Feminist Law Society and campaigns to end violence against women.
