Bison Education provides a range of fixed fee services ranging from initial assessment to full representation at tribunal. Bespoke plans can also be tailor made to meet your requirements.

Bison Education is committed to protect human rights and civil liberties regardless of financial gain, therefore we are happy to consider all financial circumstances and tailor make our advice to suit your budget.

All clients are entitled to an initial 30 minute free consultation which will outline the work required and fee options can be discussed. The 30 minute free consultation is obligation free and carried out either over the phone or in person.

 

Fixed Fee Options:

EHC Plan Review – £120 +Vat*

  • Free 30 minute consultation
  • Assessment of a single document (EHC Plan or draft of EHC Plan) and analysis of its detail and enforceability. With written recommendations regarding improvements that could be potentially made to the document.

Full EHC Plan Review – £360 +vat*

  • Free 30 minute consultation
  • Assessment of EHC Plan or draft EHC Plan and analysis of its detail and enforceability.
  • A review of the appendices to the document including reports and other relevant additional papers.
  • A review of all additional drafts made until the final plan is agreed.
  • Detailed written advice on the merit of any challenge or action that you may be able to take or suggestion as to the changes that may be beneficial to make.
  • A breakdown of the work required and cost estimation.

Annual Case Monitoring – £250 +vat initial fee*

  • Free 30 minute consultation
  • Assessment of EHC Plan and analysis of its detail and enforceability.
  • An initial review of the appendices to the document including reports and other relevant additional material.
  • Advice on any amendments which you may wish to make during the annual review process.
  • 2 hours of advice over the annual period with our education advocate on issues that arise throughout the year. Including a further review of relevant documents and other relevant material.
  • 20% reduction on the hourly rate for any additional work required outside of the 2 hours advice given.

Representation by our Education Advocate (non-tribunal) – £120 per hour +VAT*

In addition to the other plans offered, you may require representation at meetings with the:

  • local authority
  • school
  • other education placements
  • with any other parties connected to the EHC Plan

Our Education Advocate will attend the meeting and make detailed notes, offering written advice on next steps on conclusion of the meeting.

Working Document Preparation -£600 +Vat*

  • Free 30 minute consultation
  • Advice on the working document
  • Assisting you to put together a working document in accordance with the SEND Guidelines.
  • Including a review of all documentation between you and the Local Authority and all additional evidence you propose to submit.
  • Preparation of the first working document
  • Detailed written advice on the response of the LA to the first draft.

 

Support for Parent and Young Person representing themselves at Tribunal – £ 500 +vat*

  • Free 30 minute consultation
  • Support for parents or young people seeking to represent themselves at tribunal.
  • Up to 4 hours of time spent in review including assessment of EHC Plan and its enforce-ability, including a review of appendices and other relevant information.
  • Provide detailed advice about how to challenge EHC Plan sections.
  • Advice by telephone and letter. Advice can be provided face to face in our offices or via home visit.

Preparing for Tribunal as a Parent or Young Person Support + Case Preparation – £1200 + vat *

 (Independent expert fees for reports charged in addition to this rate)

  • Free 30 minute consultation.
  • Full preparation of your case for the appeal.
  • Liaison with tribunal and compliance with tribunal directions.
  • Negotiation and liaison with the local authority throughout the process.
  • Support for parents or young people seeking to represent themselves at tribunal.
  • Up to 4 hours of time advising Parent or Young Person about the EHC Plan and its enforceability, including a review of appendices and other relevant information.
  • Provide detailed advice about how to challenge EHC Plan sections.
  • Advice by telephone and letter. Advice can be provided face to face in our offices or via home visit.

 

 

Legal Representation at Tribunal (without preparation of documents) £150+ vat per hour *

  • Additional preparation time charged at £120 +vat per hour

* Additional costs such as mileage and travel are charged in addition to the fixed fee rate should it be required. (Only in cases which include travel out of the office e.g. for a home consultation if an office or telephone consultation is not suitable)
