Salil graduated with a LLB (Hons) Degree from the University of Central Lancashire in 2007. He achieved a Distinction in the Masters of Law LLM specialising in Mental Health Law at the University of Northumbria.
Salil was admitted to the roll as a solicitor in 2017 after completing his training contract with a firm specialising in Mental Health and Court of Protection law.
Salil began his legal career working at a Citizens Advice Bureau to help vulnerable people in the community. He has experience of advising and representing clients in Mental Health Tribunals but now focuses on assisting and advising clients in relation to health and welfare issues in the Court of Protection.
Salil has advised on a wide of variety of Court of Protection matters including S21A and S16 cases. He has been instructed by the Official Solicitor, RPRs and family members and has conducted his own advocacy in the Court of Protection. Salil also has experience of advising clients in relation to serious medical treatment cases, in particular: Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust v JF [2018] EWCOP 32.
In his spare time, Salil is enthusiastic about cars and Formula 1 racing and enjoys swimming and playing pool to relax.
